Half-Life 3 Whispers, Switch 2 Cracked, and a Capcom Data Breach
Speculation around Half-Life 3 picked up again after a Valve developer reportedly mentioned 'HLX' during a public stage panel — a detail that has sent the usual corners of the internet into overdrive. It is far from a confirmation, but the slip is notable enough that it is hard to dismiss entirely.
The Nintendo Switch 2 has apparently been jailbroken through a software-only exploit, a development that will concern Nintendo even at this early stage in the console's life. Separately, Nintendo had better news to deliver: Shigeru Miyamoto has become the first game developer to receive Japan's Order of Culture, the country's highest cultural honor. Three more Game Boy titles are also heading to Switch Online, one of them produced by Miyamoto himself.
Capcom disclosed a data breach affecting more than 11.7 million CAPCOM ID accounts following unauthorized access. Epic Games is drawing criticism for a new contest offering $50,000 for an AI-generated game, which Polygon described as trolling its own fanbase. And Cyberpunk 2077 modders have already extended the game's new dual-wielding mechanic to shotguns and rifles — results described as janky and wildly overpowered.
