Thief Remastered confirmed, Polyarc shuts down, and Roblox goes standalone
Nightdive has officially confirmed Thief Remastered, and it arrives with a new campaign titled The Tarnished Mirror — welcome news for fans of the stealth classic who have waited years for a proper revival. The announcement gives Nightdive another high-profile restoration project to its name, following its work on several other legacy titles.
Polyarc, the studio behind the well-regarded Moss VR series, is shutting down. The closure ends a run that earned the developer genuine critical respect in a genre that rarely sees it. Separately, Roblox is moving to let creators export their games as standalone apps for PC, console, and mobile — a significant structural shift that could pull some of the platform's most viral titles into direct competition with conventional releases. HoYoverse also scored a legal win, collecting $112,000 after a court found an AI company had stolen 63 voice performances from Genshin Impact characters.
GTA 6 continues to generate noise well before release — a real-life nudist resort is reportedly fielding reviews from fans drawing comparisons to locations seen in leaked footage. Tim Willits of Saber Interactive acknowledged in a new interview that despite remaining US-headquartered, the studio has effectively no development presence left in North America. And Twitch is pushing further into AI territory with a Stream Coach tool, a move already drawing skepticism from creators.
