BlizzCon 2026: Diablo 5, WoW Forever, and a New Warcraft 3 Campaign

Blizzard used BlizzCon 2026 to announce Diablo 5, set for a 2029 release and pitched around the premise that Diablo has already won — a post-apocalyptic framing that marks a sharp tonal shift from Diablo 4, which is itself still receiving content, including a major final boss arriving next week and a new Amazon class confirmed for 2027.

The World of Warcraft news was equally dense. World of Warcraft: Forever is the long-rumored Classic Plus project, repositioning the vanilla WoW experience with all-new content and launching in November — its beta kicked off immediately after the announcement. A separate expansion, World of Warcraft: The Last Titan, was revealed for a 2027 release and framed by Blizzard as the culmination of more than two decades of MMO storytelling. A first look at yet another upcoming WoW expansion also surfaced during the ceremony.

Warcraft 3: Reforged received its first new official campaign in 23 years — Forsaken Kingdom, starring Arthas and Sylvanas, available to play now. Hearthstone is getting its first new class in four years, a Monk based on Warcraft's fire-breathing panda, arriving next spring, alongside a more story-driven journal mode. Overwatch unveiled a robo-vampire as its newest hero, with reworks planned for Roadhog and Sombra.
