Riot Games co-founder Marc Merrill addressed the shutdown of 2XKO directly, framing it not as a mistake but as a deliberate risk that didn't pay off. He also offered a rare acknowledgment of the company's in-development MMO, warning that 'many a brave knight are going to die' — suggesting the project remains ambitious and far from safe. Separately, a Nintendo leaker is claiming that new Smash Bros and Nintendogs games are in development, though no official confirmation has come from Nintendo.

Civilization's Arc of Tomorrow update is taking aim at one of the series' most underused mechanics, with the developers saying changes are designed to make the threat of nuclear apocalypse feel like genuine high-stakes tension rather than a background possibility. The Tetris Company also issued a statement distancing itself from a White House-produced riff on its game, saying the company 'believes in the power of connection and bringing people together, not dividing them.' And Square Enix revealed that the graphical target for the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy was the 2005 film Advent Children, which the team considers the ideal visual representation of the world.
