Witcher 4 Delays Its Own Remake; Capcom's RE4 Secrets Spill Out
CD Projekt Red has confirmed that The Witcher Remake is on hold until development on The Witcher 4 reaches a sufficient stage — a candid admission that the studio is keeping its focus squarely on the flagship sequel. The Witcher 4 continues to generate anticipation on other fronts too, with The Witcher 3's quest designer and the voice of Geralt weighing in on what to expect from the game's unexpected final expansion, even as CD Projekt Red reports it is still pulling in strong revenue during the long wait.
Over at Capcom, two separate stories are pulling back the curtain on the Resident Evil series. More than 600 unused voice lines from Resident Evil 4 have leaked online, suggesting the developer originally intended to connect that game to Resident Evil Village. Separately, the director of Resident Evil 2 has said he thinks Capcom is making its current Resident Evil games too frightening — an unusually frank self-critique. A batch of old GTA 6 leaks has also been validated, with a number of details from earlier breaches turning out to be accurate.
The Peak developers are putting their earnings to work, announcing plans to publish new indie games. Prison Architect 2, quiet for roughly two years, has received a significant update. RuneScape Dragonwilds will not raise its price when it exits early access, with the studio framing the decision as a gesture of appreciation to players. Final Fantasy XIV Online subscribers on Nintendo Switch 2 have until next week before the free subscription period tied to the full version comes to an end, and a rumour has surfaced suggesting Nintendo may be updating the Switch 2's LCD panel.
