Wolverine goes gold, Duskbloods stumbles, and Compulsion exits Xbox
Marvel's Wolverine has gone gold, Insomniac confirming the game is ready to ship after a five-year development period marked by a significant leak. The milestone lands ahead of its release next month, and IGN has a comics reading list up for anyone wanting to prep. The leak shadow looms elsewhere too — fresh footage of GTA 6's streets continues to surface from whoever is behind the original breach, with one fan claiming to have traced the leaker's crypto wallet, and analysts parsing whether the footage confirms a PC version (the apparent consensus: it probably does, but it doesn't tell us much).
Compulsion Games is officially no longer an Xbox studio, completing its separation from Microsoft. FromSoftware's The Duskbloods had a rougher day still — its first public network test was shut down after just a few hours due to server issues, a stumbling start for one of the more anticipated titles tied to Nintendo Switch 2. Arc Raiders, meanwhile, is pulling its Expeditions mode until early 2027 to make what the developers describe as major improvements following heavy player feedback.
Naughty Dog's Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet added a veteran of The Last of Us and Uncharted to its cast. A sprawling Baldur's Gate 3 mod centered on Astarion has arrived, bringing a six-hour campaign, new companions, four endings, and at least one cat. Double Fine is reviving its game jam as a Kickstarter, letting fans vote on the studio's next project — a notable move for a studio that built much of its identity on that format.
