GTA 6's $80 price tag defended as Xbox frustration boils over
Take-Two's boss is calling an $80 GTA 6 an 'incredible bargain,' and in the same breath dismissing concerns about AI, telling reporters the tools won't replace anyone on the team. He also weighed in on physical media, arguing discs no longer make sense and that Sony understands that — pointed remarks that arrive as Xbox is separately exploring a disc-to-digital conversion feature, partly as a hedge against game delisting.
At id Software, frustration with Xbox is spilling into public view. A developer there says Microsoft doesn't 'understand art,' and that after a round of layoffs it has become 'impossible' to make large-scale games like Doom: The Dark Ages. The comments land as BioWare veterans are also reflecting on creative direction — one noting that Baldur's Gate 3 succeeded as a sequel precisely because Larian didn't try too hard to echo Baldur's Gate 2.
A rare Demon's Souls prototype has surfaced showing a first-person perspective and unused enemies, prompting speculation about how differently the Soulslike genre might have evolved. Ubisoft, meanwhile, is reportedly preparing to re-announce Beyond Good and Evil 2 as the project approaches two decades since its first reveal. And a Silent Hill 2 patch has broken the remake on PS5 Pro, with Konami now investigating.
