God of War's future points to Laufey; FF14 eyes WoW for housing fixes
Cory Barlog has confirmed that the next God of War game will follow and connect to Laufey, giving fans their clearest signal yet of where the series heads after Ragnarok. The announcement puts a narrative thread in place even as no release window has been attached to the project.
Final Fantasy 14 is planning two major overhauls to its housing system, with director Yoshi-P citing World of Warcraft's approach as a meaningful reference point — calling WoW's take 'amazing' and describing housing as probably the number one thing players are requesting. The acknowledgment is unusually candid for a live-service team, and the changes arrive under the Evercold update banner. Separately, a completed fan-made Portal remake remains stuck in limbo after Valve went silent on the project, leaving its creators in an uncomfortable holding pattern.
Ubisoft says its Black Flag remake exceeded annual sales expectations within just two weeks — a striking figure that landed shortly after the company laid off a number of people who worked on it. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers also hit a milestone, topping five million players despite the collapse of its development team. And 007 First Light pushed out its first major patch, with PS5 players in particular getting a significant set of fixes.
