Privacy Policy

RecapFeed is privacy-light by design. There are no accounts, and we keep data collection to the minimum needed to run and improve the site. The only personal detail we ever store is an email address — and only if you choose to give us one for the Weekly Digest (see below).

What's stored on your device

The Recap ("what's new since your last visit") works using a single "last visited" timestamp saved in your browser's localStorage. It never leaves your device and is never sent to us. Clear your browser storage and it's gone.

Weekly Digest email (optional)

If — and only if — you enter your address in the Weekly Digest signup, we store it so we can send you the once-a-week digest. That's the sole reason we hold it: no other emails, no sharing, no selling. Delivery and the mailing list are handled by our email provider, Resend. Every digest has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to remove your address at any time. Don't want to be on the list? Simply don't enter your email — nothing else on the site asks for it.

What we don't collect

• No accounts, logins or passwords.
• No personal profiles, and no selling or sharing of your data.
• No cross-site tracking of you as an individual, and no advertising networks.

Third-party content

Images are served through an image proxy for sizing and resilience, and outbound links take you to third-party sites (publishers, stores, YouTube) that have their own privacy policies. We don't control those.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics, loaded via Google Tag Manager, to understand aggregate, anonymous usage — things like which pages are popular and rough traffic levels — so we can improve the site. This may set analytics cookies and collects standard, non-identifying data such as approximate location, device and browser type, and pages viewed. It isn't used to identify you personally, and we don't sell it. You can opt out with a browser-level tracker/ad blocker or your browser's privacy settings — or simply visit any page with ?notrack on the end of the URL (e.g. recapfeed.com/?notrack) to switch analytics off for that browser (?notrack=off turns it back on). The Recap's "last visited" timestamp described above is separate and never leaves your device.
